A Golden Anniversary Commission
I decided recently that I would stop doing commissions for a little while as I'm working full time on events at the moment and want to dedicate any spare time I can squirrel to my new picture book. BUT. Then a good friend of mine asked me to draw something special for his parents' golden wedding anniversary so how could I say no? He wanted a picture of them on their wedding day to display at the party he had organised. What a privilege to be contributing to something so lovely and celebratory. So I put pencil to paper.
He provided a bunch of fabulous photos from the 1960s, his dad looking like the cat who'd got the cream and his mum with bouffant hair and the biggest smile you've ever seen. Here's a peek at the end result. I love how this path of illustration has led to such happy little moments.
